AUDIOBOOK SEARCH AND DISCOVERY

How it works

Choose your next audiobook without juggling catalogues.

01, FIND

More than one way to find an audiobook

Search a title or author, explore categories and topics, or choose a mood in the Mood Picker. Its suggestions are editorial, not AI-generated.

Common typos are supported. Ecoutance lists audiobooks only: no print books or ebooks.

02, COMPARE

Language and access, edition by edition

Before buying, expand a book to compare audio language, narrator, duration, platform and access terms. Avoid choosing a language or version that does not suit you. A work can have several editions, languages or abridged versions.

Links open the listening provider. Ecoutance is an audiobook search engine and listening guide. Its audiobook finder brings together editions to help you discover where to listen and compare your options. Listening and purchases happen on the provider’s service.

03, PERSONALISE

Make the most of your subscriptions

Before buying separately, check the access you already pay for. In Your access, enter your plans, library cards, preferred language and, optionally, remaining hours or credits to help rank offers. View offers from my services filters your listed services without guaranteeing edition inclusion. Confirm your balance and availability with the provider.

You enter these balances yourself. Ecoutance does not connect to your accounts or verify access. A subscription may not include every edition.

04, KEEP

Your next listens, ready to choose

Add an offer to Listen later. You can keep several offers for one audiobook, add notes to the work, or remove it.

When finished, choose Mark as listened. The book moves to Listened with its date and notes. Move it back to Listen later for a new listen.

Choose your library network

In Access, choose City of Paris Libraries (two verified French audio loans) or Libby, American Library in Paris (one first verified English title). These libraries require separate cards or memberships.

Paris requires a valid City library card, ages 15+: up to 4 simultaneous and 6 monthly loans for 31 days, with ebook-shared quotas. American Library in Paris requires its own paid membership, with fees depending on your profile. Check membership conditions before choosing this network.

Open the official portal to check copies, waiting times and your access. Ecoutance does not connect to your library account or sync availability. Only audiobooks are listed.

An audiobook catalogue that grows every week

Ecoutance has recently launched. The Ecoutance team works every week to expand the listed audiobooks, languages and platforms.

180 audiobooks, 817 editions and 8 commercial platforms, LibriVox and two library pilots: Paris and Libby / American Library in Paris. Coverage is not exhaustive. A missing search result does not prove a title is absent from a platform. An “ebook found” note explains an unsuccessful audio check; it is not an audiobook offer.

Listings are dated. Languages and regions matter: a foreign catalogue listing may not be accessible in France. Prices and terms can change; check dates are shown on each listing. Account access has not been tested. Some covers illustrate the work where the exact edition image could not be confirmed.

Your shelf stays in your browser

Lists, notes, history and preferences are stored locally, without cross-device sync. Clearing browser data may remove them.

Removing a book from a list keeps its notes for later. Adding to Listen later does not make a purchase.

FAQ, your audiobook questions

What do livre audio, audiobook and audiobooks mean?

Livre audio is French for audiobook; audiobooks is the English plural. The word does not determine the recording language. Compare each edition’s audio language, narrator and version before choosing your listening platform.

Which country does Ecoutance currently cover?

Ecoutance is an initiative from France, focused primarily on catalogues and offers for the French market. Listings include French and English audio editions. Changing the interface language does not change the market. International offers are identified; confirm access with the provider.

How can I use my subscriptions and library cards?

Open Your access on Explore and add your audiobook subscriptions and the library networks you belong to. Your choices stay in this browser without connecting to your accounts. How can I compare Audible, Storytel, BookBeat, Nextory and Spotify?
